Use “and” to join similar ideas.
❌ He is rich but kind.
✅ He is rich and kind.
Use “but” to show contrast.
❌ She is poor and honest.
✅ She is poor but honest.
Use “or” to show a choice.
❌ Would you like tea and coffee?
✅ Would you like tea or coffee?
Use “so” to show a result.
❌ He was tired but he went to bed.
✅ He was tired so he went to bed.
Use “because” to show reason.
❌ He is crying so he lost his toy.
✅ He is crying because he lost his toy.
Avoid using “but” and “although” together.
❌ Although he was ill, but he went out.
✅ Although he was ill, he went out.
Use “either…or” for two choices.
❌ Either Ram and Shyam will come.
✅ Either Ram or Shyam will come.
Use “neither…nor” for two negatives.
❌ Neither he or his brother is here.
✅ Neither he nor his brother is here.
