Tap into the great source of fairy tales, fables, myths available to us from various cultures, for the purpose of education of children and youngsters. An appropriate story at the right time can nourish and heal a person, give them direction or act as a mirror to their own qualities.
Learn to make puppets with Sushma Reddy and inculcate values and culture within children through puppet shows.
DAY 1 (10.30 a.m. to 02.00 p.m.):
Participants will be making puppets for the main characters in the story under guidance.
DAY 2 (11.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.):
Demonstration of the set up and a puppet show using what is available - with a puppet show. The puppet show will be followed by a Q&A in case of queries.
About Sushma: Sushma moved to Mumbai in 2006, after completing her bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Bangalore University.
She worked on various feature films, ad films, short films as an Assistant Director, until 2010.
Following which, she dabbled in painting for a couple of years and completed The Foundation Art Course from L.S Raheja School of Art, Bandra..
In 2013 she began her journey as an Art teacher at The Akanksha Foundation.
Currently a teacher by profession working at Handwork in The Golden Spiral school. The Golden Spiral school is based on an alternative education method called Waldorf.
Handwork as a subject involves various skills and crafts like knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, sewing, macrame, dyeing etc. Needless to say, this is where her love for puppetry began!
She also is an active member/volunteer at an international organisation called New Acropolis for over 4 years now. New Acropolis is a school of Philosophy, Culture and Volunteering.
