Bundelkhand is one of the 3 most backward regions in the country. Majority of the population in the region depends on small scale farming for self-sustenance. But due to lack of water, proper knowledge, increasing input costs most farmers are operating in loss. Prem Singh from Banda region is one of the most progressive farmers in the region as well as the country and he has a plan to tackle this situation. Rest Of My Family has joined hands with him to raise funds to tackle the situation through his model. The idea is to provide guidance through farmers’ training school and financial support through an incubator fund to farmers of the region to enable them to transition to Avartansheel kheti (a sustainable, organic farming practice) that will:

1) Make agriculture profitable and sustainable, thus reducing farmer stress and suicides.

2) Address the stray-cattle problem.

3) Improve ground water levels.

4) Counter deforestation.

Thus, not only improving the situation of the farmers but also tackling some of the most serious problems facing the region today.
