Today we will trek for Namche Bazaar. Namche is at an altitude level of 3, 440 meters. The route is surrounded by huge green mountain ranges. The Dudh Koshi River flows along the side till Namche. We will stop at Monjo for our lunch, as that is the last point to get food before Namche. The route between Monjo and Namche is a gradually inclining trail amidst thick green forest. You will be able to get a glimpse of Everest and Lhotse just before Namche, though not very clear. Total trekking will be 6 to 7 hours with moderate difficulty level and a portion after Monjo will be strenuous. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 4: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar, Short Hiking
This is a day for acclimatization and we will be resting in Namche Bazaar. It is a place that has everything one can wish for, Coffee shops, bars, restaurants and many more things to do. You can go to the Namche museum, this a little above Namche Bazaar, just about 20 minutes trek. You can get a clear view of Everest and Lhotse from this place. You can also visit the Namche Market and Namche Monastery. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 5: Namche to Tengboche (3860 m / 12664 ft.) (6 to 7 Hrs)
Tengboche is a small valley at an altitude level of 3,860m. It is one of the most beautiful places of our entire trekking route. The Tengboche Monastery is a famous and beautiful place, worth visiting. The trek time will be about 5 hours with moderate difficulty level. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410 m / 14468 ft. ) (5 to 6 Hrs)
Today we will start our trek towards the Pangboche village and we will get some nice views of Mt. Ama Dablam. We are likely to have our lunch at Pangboche. We will then trek towards Pheriche and proceed to the Imja Valley. We will be able to see the Lobuche River and will pass through it and take steep hike to Dingboche. The trek will be about 6 to 7 hours while it will be moderate for most part, there will be about 2 steep inclines. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 7: Acclimatization day at Dingboche
Today will be an acclimatization day. We can take a small hike to get a view of worlds three top mountain peaks Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu and Mount Cho Oyu. Overnight stay in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 8: Dingboche to Dughla (4620 m / 15157 ft.) (3 Hrs)
Today’s trek to Dughla will be our shortest trek in this trip. The distance between Dingboche and Dughla is less in comparison to rest of the days. The flat trail till Dughla will offer some of the best views of this trekking expedition. On our right, we can see a magnificent view of mount Pumori (7138m) and a glacial lake. We will cross the Dhudkoshi River just before our Tea House; in fact the source of this river is just 1KM from this place. You can see the wall of Khumbu glacier from this place. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.
Day 9: Dughla to Lobuche (4940 m / 16207 ft.) (4 Hrs)
Today we will start our trekking towards Lobuche which is situated beside the Khumbu glacier. Initial part of the trek will be tough as we will hike to Dughla Pass/ Thukla Pass. It is a short and steep hike from Dhughla/Thukla. The pass is full of mountaineers’ memorials. You can find many famous mountaineers memorials who lost their lives in different expeditions. We usually spend some time at the pass and then proceed to Lobuche. Dhugla / Thukla Pass to Lobuche trail is almost flat. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5164 m / 16942 ft.) & Visit Everest Base Camp (7 to 8 Hrs)
Today’s trekking trail will have a lot of ups and downs till Gorakshep. Most of the ups and down trails are on the Khumbu glacier moraines. Once we reach Gorakshep, we will have a light lunch and proceed to Everest Base Camp, which is situated at the beginning of the Khumbu glacier. The trail goes along side of the Khumbu glacier. You will get to sight some extra ordinary views of Mt. Pumori on your right and Mt. Nuptse on your left. The Khumbu icefall is clearly visible from base camp. This portion of the trek brings us up-close to these gigantic mountains and it feels like heaven. We need to hike on the Khumbu glacier for a small distance to reach at Everest Base Camp. It is situated on the glacier close to Khumbu ice fall which is very clearly visible. We will spend some time at the base camp and return to Gorakshep on the same trail. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 11: Hiking to Kala Patthar (5645 m / 18519 ft.) and descend to Pheriche (7 to 8 Hrs)
Today we will start our trek early in the morning to Kala Patthar. The hike to the summit of Kala Patthar is one of the most difficult and yet rewarding part of this trekking expedition of yours. You will be able to see the most beautiful and gigantic view of Mount Everest. After the Kala Pathar hike, you will discover why Everest is the highest peak on our planet. In fact Kala Patthar is the only place from where you can get views of almost the entire high peak mountains of the Khumbu Range. It will take about 3 hours to reach Kala Patthar from Gorakshep. We can’t spend much time on the top as it’s a windy place. After Kala Patthar it will be all descending from now on and the trek becomes very simple, though you have to be careful about the decline. We will need another 4 hours to reach Pheriche. It is a flat valley on the bank of Dhudhkoshi River. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 12: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (6 to 7 hrs)
Today’s trek will be a moderate trek till Namche Bazaar. We have a little up-hill hike before Tengboche and after Phungi Thanga. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (6 to 7 Hrs)
Today is the last day of our trekking in Khumbu. The trek is of moderate difficulty level as we return to Lukla on the very same trail. The last hike to Lukla will appear endless as we will be in a hurry to reach Lukla, however the trail is not tough at all. Overnight in a Tea House / Mountain Lodge.

Is this trip for me?
EBC trek is graded as Moderate difficulty level. To be able to comfortably complete this trek one must be of good health and fitness. This means one must be able to comfortably walk for 6 to 7 hours a day on average. This walking includes ascending and descending, not just walking on flat group. Previous hiking experience is highly desirable. It is more than possible that one can train for this trek one can contact out training partner ‘Outplay Fit LLP’. Along with physical attributes, a strong mind and positive attitude will take you a long way on this trek. If you love to challenge yourself both physically and mentally and love to see and experience new and vastly different landscapes then this trek is definitely for you!!

What about the Altitude?
A concern for everyone thinking of hiking to this altitude! Altitude can and does affect everyone differently. No two bodies react the same and indeed even the same person can react differently at altitude depending on circumstances. Being fit helps your body to recover from the long hikes quickly thus allowing your body to acclimatize faster. Coupled with this, walking slowly, slowly all the time is another sure way of giving you the most comfortable experience at high altitude. We will carry oxygen cylinders and other treatments necessary for helping the affects of altitude. Also, the Everest region is probably the best equipped region for helping people deal with altitude considering the number of trekkers and summiteers it sees every year.

A visa is not required for Indian nationals. You do not need to apply for one before leaving India. You will receive a stamp on arrival at Kathmandu. But you need to carry your passport to gain entry in Nepal.

Spending money:
There isn’t really much opportunity for spending money on the trek except for maybe soft drinks at the teahouses however, for Kathmandu you will need money for any souvenirs you wish to buy, sightseeing visits, renting or purchasing of equipment and meals not included. ATM’s are available in Kathmandu. It might be possible that your debit/credit card doesn’t work outside of India so please check with your bank before leaving to ensure your card is unblocked for foreign transactions. The best and safest way to carry money is using Forex Cards which are currently offered in India through many of the nationalized banks.

Nepal after the earthquake has seen tremendous pressure on its eco system and many people’s livelihoods have been affected. While tipping is optional it will be highly appreciated if you can factor in some money for tipping.

Travel Insurance:
Travel insurance is a must for this trip. Travel Insurance has been included in the package price. The final details regarding the same will be shared 15 days prior to the departure date.

Important Note:
Although we do our best to follow the schedule above, this itinerary is subject to change due to weather, route conditions, and other factors beyond our control. Any additional cost incurred due to unforeseen circumstances will need to be covered from your end.

We would suggest getting the flexible fair tickets for this tour. Kathmandu international airport can be reached by a direct flight from Delhi and there are regular flights from other International Airports of India. Please contact us for the best way to get to the beginning of this tour.

What level of fitness is required for this trek?

Everest Base Camp is one of the most strenuous treks in the world. Having said that you don’t need to be an athlete to do the trek, but physical fitness is necessary for this demanding trek. Your ability to enjoy the adventure depends on your health and fitness level.

There are many ways you can condition yourself for the trek. We believe the best form of training is stimulating the activity you are training for and then increasing the level of exertion as the routine becomes easier. For example, walking uphills and stair climbing are excellent ways to train your lower body, heart and lungs for climbing. Begin slowly, without the weight of a pack, and eventually add weight as you increase your training pace. Subsequently supplement these workouts with running, swimming, cycling or other forms of aerobic activities. Additionally we highly recommend that you incorporate a weight training program into your training to build upper body strength.

For physical training we have partnered with ‘Outplay Fit LLP’ having centres in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi & Bangalore. You can contact Pravin Chirmure on +9987322227 or email on .
