Sally Chance Dance (Australia) in association with Think Arts (Kolkata) and Insite Arts will be facilitating a 4 day workshop for dance professionals on creating performances for very young audiences. The facilitators will draw on perspectives about the first three years of childhood, which have emerged through developments in fields such as cognitive science, to challenge old orthodoxies assuming a lack of agency and interactive capacity in pre-verbal children. They will use processes of collaboration and co-creation to share the practices underpinning our goal that children experience our performances as a meeting point. This workshop is ideal for anybody involved in the performing arts (dance, music, theatre), education for young ones or creative movement and dance therapy practitioners.
Scholarships are available for this workshop on application.
