Every ₹ COUNTS

Min ₹ 1,000

With the e-cigarette bill passing in both Houses after rejecting all 60 amendments proposed by Opposition, only the President’s consent is required which is also a given.

The efforts to save vaping must now move to the Supreme Court. A strong challenge is required to be mounted against the hundreds of blatantly false statements made in support of the bill. The courts have so far continuously taken the side of e-cigarettes, with all three top high courts – Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata – giving reliefs against the government orders. It is likely the apex court too will take a favourable view.

A Supreme Court challenge however requires significant funds. We may need to raise upto Rs 50 lakh. While aggressive efforts are being made to raise funds from independent vendors, substantial contributions from vapers are also needed to make a court case possible. We request everyone to chip in generously for this cause.

To maintain full transparency, details of all funds collected through vapers will be published, and accounts of expenses will be mailed to contributors regularly.
