According to an official statement issued by the messenger platform, <\/span><b>WhatsApp will be sharing data with its parent company &#8211; Facebook &#8211; effective February 8th, 2021! \ud83d\ude31\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>However, in a statement exclusively released to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Verge<\/a>, WhatsApp clarified that these changes to its privacy policy and \u201cdata sharing\u201d will only apply to Whatsapp business accounts.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Things to know if you are using a WhatsApp business account\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"cs-embed cs-embed-responsive\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/d86_bNJQcg0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h3><strong>1. WhatsApp has access to your customer information<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you use a WhatsApp business account, you allow the app access to your<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Interactions with customers<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Transactional messages<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Receipts, booking dates, payments info etc<\/strong>. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WhatsApp claims it will share this information with Facebook and other Facebook-owned companies for a better business experience.\u00a0WhatsApp also shares this information with several third-party apps that it works with to help bring their services to you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;As part of the Facebook Companies, WhatsApp receives information from and shares information (see here) with the other Facebook Companies. We may use the information we receive from them, and they may use the information we share with them, to help operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services and their offerings, including the Facebook Company Products.&#8221;<b>\u00a0 &#8211; WhatsApp said in an statement.\u00a0<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>2. WhatsApp payments data seems to be secure<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">WhatsApp Payment&#8217;s privacy policy is different from that of its platform usage policy. WhatsApp is offering secure hosting from Facebook!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the updated and clarified privacy policy, <\/span><b>WhatsApp says that you (as a business) can choose to receive secure hosting from Facebook to help you manage communications with your customers better.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The messenger platform also added that this move is to help businesses focus better and bring a sense of &#8220;interoperability&#8221; among Facebook, WhatsApp, and other Facebook-owned businesses.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>4.
