RK Shanmukham Chetty presented the first budget of Independent India on November 26, 1947. However, the budget itself has a 164-year-old legacy. Nirmala Sitharaman had the longest speech when she spoke for 2 hours and 42 minutes for the 2020-2021 budget.<\/p>\n 12. The shortest speech had only 800 words delivered by Hirubhai Mulljibhai Patel delivered in 1977<\/p>\n 13. Morarji Desai presented the most number of budgets between 1962-69.<\/p>\n 14.
