if you are looking to set up a new small business, you can register it on the Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) portal.<\/p>\n

Over 1 crore MSMEs have registered for the Udyog Aadhaar all over India since September 2015. To avail of the benefits, loans and schemes the Government keeps announcing, register your business on the portal.<\/p>\n

Here is everything you need to know about the process.<\/p>\n

What is Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) portal?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) portal is a one-page registration form which helps MSMEs register themselves and self-certify all business details like a bank account, promoter details etc.\u00a0The registration process is free of cost.<\/p>\n

Using the UAM, businesses can self-declare their existence, bank accounts, Aadhaar details and more.<\/strong><\/p>\n

MSME registration process\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Here’s a quick look into how you can register for the Udyog Aadhar Memorandum<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Login to the Udyam registration website here<\/li>\n
  2. Make sure you have a registered Aadhar card, Enter your Aadhar number and name of the business owner.<\/li>\n
  3. Check the box of Terms and Conditions<\/li>\n
  4. Click on \u2018Validate and Generate OTP\u2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Enter the OTP you receive on your registered mobile number.<\/li>\n
  6. Once verified, you will have to fill an online form.<\/li>\n
  7. Fill in all the fields – documents mentioned below.<\/li>\n
  8. Click on submit and re-enter the next OTP you receive on your mobile number.<\/li>\n
  9. Click the final submit button.<\/li>\n
  10. You can file for more than 1 UAN (Udyog Aadhaar Number),\u00a0using the same Aadhaar card.<\/li>\n
  11. Once the registration process is done, a UAN number will be sent via email on the basis of which they can avail of various Central and State government benefits for MSMEs.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  12. Once the registration is accepted, the Government gives you a recognized certification. This certification will further help you avail of benefits depending on your business category.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    MSME eligibility to register on the UAM portal\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    In order to help MSMEs combat the lockdown liquidity crunch and avail benefits, the Government has fast-tracked the definition of MSMEs. Now MSMEs are classified based on their annual turnover and investment<\/span><\/a> (the last Government update was in 2020), which can be verified on the GSTN portal. You are eligible for registration on the UAM portal based on the classification as shown below:<\/p>\n
