Description of the Course
MIT App Inventor is an online platform designed to teach computational thinking concepts through development of mobile applications. Students create applications by dragging and dropping components into a design view and using a visual blocks language to program application behaviour.
Everybody has a great idea for an app. The problem is, not many of those people have the skills or knowledge required to make that idea a reality. Building an app, regardless of its simplicity or platform, requires certain technical know-how like coding, UX/UI design, and more.
MIT App Inventor, however, cuts through all of the smoke and allows anyone – even those with no coding experience – to build Android apps from the ground up. This course will teach you how.

Requirements
• Students should have an adequate internet connection.
• Students should have a basic understanding of what an Android application is.

• Any person who has a desire to create Android applications but that might be daunted by the idea of programming.

Topics to be covered
1. Creating a Hello World program using control blocks, screen navigation and media upload.
2. Creating Calculator using math blocks and notifications.
3. Creating paint tools using colour blocks, changing background colours using canvas.
4. Creating a to-do list by using tiny database and list blocks and sensor components.
5. Creating a Ping Pong ball game using image spirits and balls concluding the MIT APP inventor.
