***Description: ***
This course will introduce you to Virtual Reality (VR). The course will teach you everything from the basics of VR- the hardware and the history of VR- to different applications of VR, the psychology of Virtual Reality, and the challenges of the medium.
Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds. By simulating as many senses as possible, such as vision, hearing, touch, even smell, the computer is transformed into a gatekeeper to this artificial world.
Virtual reality is one of the most highly requested skill sets in the jobs market, and this specialisation will give you an introduction to the subject and key skills in the field.
This course is designed for students who are new to virtual reality and want to learn about the principles of VR technology including optics, displays, stereopsis, tracking, and major hardware platforms.

Prerequisites:
• 3D modeling and/or scanning,
• A little knowledge of math and geometry.
• Knowledge of programming languages like C/C++/C#
Who is this course for
• Anybody who wants to gain excellence in virtual Reality.
• Who are new to Virtual Reality as a medium.
• Anyone who have never experienced Virtual Reality and those who do not have much hardware.
• Anyone who is ready to start learning about this amazing technology, then this is the perfect place to begin!

Learning outcomes
• A learner with no previous experience in Virtual Reality and/or game programming will be able to evaluate existing VR applications, and design, test, and implement their own VR experiences/games using Unity by the end of the specialisation.
• You will have created and deployed a VR application.
• You will understand the physical principles of VR and you will use that knowledge to create a comfortable, high-performance VR application using Unity.
• Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental techniques, processes, technologies and equipment used in immersive virtual reality;
• Begin to explore materials and processes used in immersive virtual reality;
• Show a basic awareness and understanding of historical and theoretical contexts relevant to immersive virtual reality; and
• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of critical and self-reflective practice.
