Application Form for a two-day residential workshop with Padma Shri Sudharak Olwe, Alfred Fried Peace Prize
winner Helena Schaetzle, and documentary photographer Indrajit Khambe.
The workshop is aimed at helping you create and explore social documentary photography investigating issues facing our world today.
Our workshop will help you understand fundamentals of photography techniques in digital, and how to use them practically. Develop a photographer’s eye for news. Learn to take artistic compositions. Be able to read pictures, and develop a way for self-assessment. Use images as part of advocacy, raising awareness, educational, fundraising campaigns, and even on social media.
We will also focus on identifying personal stories for long-term projects, and build photo stories that have human interest value. It will deal with themes around individuals and Communities.
A session on creating your own profile and portfolio will be conducted. The participants will learn how to exhibit/ promote their work in media publications and on social media. The workshop will include field visits with the mentor.
Our workshop is applicable to those working across a wide spectrum of issues, including human rights, humanitarian/poverty, environmental, and social issues.
Things we need: Your undivided attention, and each participant should bring one photo story/ theme of 20 photos or more, which will give us an insight into their work and interest.
Fees: Rs 9,750/-
(It includes sharing accommodation in a picturesque resort, food, and pick-up from Chiplun Railway Station or Chiplun Bus stand).
