Thousands of Buddhist monks had traveled for long days together from far off lands and had gathered around a peepal tree to listen to the valuable Preaching od Lord Buddha. Amidst the excitement and murmur of the monks, Lord Buddha climbed on the stage and raised his hand. At this, Absolute silence Prevailed.

When Lord Buddha was about to begin his preaching, a little sparrow landed on the stage. It went on Chirping for a few seconds and flew away. Lord Buddha Announced, "this is the teaching for Today".
