Raises Series A From Kalaari Capital To Democratize Payments

(Last Updated On: January 22, 2021)

We have some news for you today, and we are very excited about it. Even more so, we are super excited to share this moment with you & congratulate you as well.

We have raised our Series A funding from Kalaari Capital to build our vision of democratizing payments for everyone viz, individuals, micro-merchants, infopreneurs, freelancers, SMBs etc with our innovative link-based payments platform. Our previous investors like Blume Ventures, US-based 500Startups and others have also participated in this round.

We plan to spend this money on marketing, product development & expanding the current team across all functions (p.s. we are hiring in Bangalore). Part of this involves setting up our new office in Bangalore too.

That means, you should expect a far better product experience. Or in short, you shouldn’t expect anything less than brilliant from us.

As you know, we have always positioned ourselves as the “iOS platform of the payments industry” where we are working hard to remove barriers of entry like technical know-how, upfront costs, providing access to distribution channels on web & mobile and thus boosting time to market for small businesses.

We hope that with our new technology & fresh approach, we are able to create a frictionless payments ecosystem that fosters product innovation. Thus, creating a level playing ground for micro-merchants to leverage internet, mobile & payments together to create newer opportunities and livelihoods.

And we are excited to have Kalaari Capital partner with us in that journey.

Vani Kola, Managing Director, Kalaari Capital will join our board along with Karthik Reddy, Managing Partner of Blume Ventures.

To celebrate this, we are soon going to launch our “Referral program” for everyone, so both buyers and sellers alike can earn by simply referring their friends to Instamojo and enabling them to collect payments online. So watch out this space for more!

Finally, a big thank you for being patient all this while and helping us learn a thing or two about how we should serve you better.

A big thank you…cheers!
