Is it Love? 4 Reasons Your Business is BAE! (Before Anyone Else)

love business

Building a business is a lot like building a relationship. We all love our businesses but some of us are just plain crazy about what we do! We don’t blame you. Here are 5 reasons that justify why your business is BAE (Before Anyone Else).

  1. Love/Business is Blind

As the old cliché goes, love sees no race, no religion, no gender. Love makes you passionate and blind to everything else in the vicinity.

Similarly, when you’ve set a goal of starting your business, you are overly optimistic and often fail to see the downsides of what could go wrong. You are even irrational at times while taking decisions.

You just want to start your relationship – with your business.

  1. Love/Business Takes Courage

Love takes great courage. You beat all the odds to be with that one person. You don’t care who you’re pissing off or hurting along the way. Nothing scares you.

Similarly, when you are starting your business, the pitfalls don’t scare you. You are ready to take risks in all forms – investments, marketing, PR and even hiring. You know you will make a few wrong moves, but that doesn’t stop you either!

  1. Love/Business Has Ups & Downs

The course of true love never did run smooth. No relationship is always comfortable. There are going to be ups – happy times when you feel like you could conquer the world with your love – and sad times, when you feel nothing could go more wrong. The highs are too high and the lows, too low.

A business too doesn’t have a flat line on the graph. Some months, your business is rocking it and you’re making crores in sales but some months are dry, when you’re hardly only selling in thousands.

Other issues like bad PR, tight funding and operational problems are also a part of the bad times.

  1. Love/Business Needs Commitment

A serious relationship requires commitment – the commitment to stay faithful, to stick it out through thick and thin and huge amount of faith in your partner. It needs work, every single day.

Your business needs commitment too! You make your products with love. You follow up with clients without fail, you track your payouts and refunds dutifully, you go to your store every day without fail. You work hard at making the business a success and give it your all.

Every entrepreneur is a little in love with his/her business. But some are a little too crazy about their business, so much, they could give an arm and a leg for it.

Are you madly in love with your business? Here are a few tell-tale signs:

  • You are always running out of business cards.
  • You are always positive and smiling when talking to employees, customers and peers about your business.
  • You talk excitedly about your business.
  • You are always educating yourself, reading blogs, attending webinars and taking courses to try new things to grow your business.
  • You manage your time efficiently.
  • You are never bored at work.
